Timberland Boots & Shoes latest news & blog page

Bit of a rush is this page, but we hope it eventually settles down to a useful resource for you to see new products and information about Timberland shoes & boots. Hope my spelling and grammer is ok, but please let us know if not, or if you've any comments about the store or Timberland in general! Email John.

Timberland 2-eye Classic Boat Shoe back in stock

Every Spring, we're always asked when we'll have stock of the Timberland Classic Boat Shoe – they're now in stock! There are six colours including a jaunty nautical version in Navy with white trim, although our favourite is the Timberland Classic Boat Shoes in 'rootbeer'.

New Season Stock for Spring 2010 now in!

We've quite a lot of new stock in from Timberland including nearly a dozen new styles. Many of these are tweaked versions of favourites absent since early last year, such as some new styling for Eurosprint kids hiking boots in Black/Gold, Wheat and Navy/White

New Timberland Waterproof Fell Walking Boot

There are some brand new hiking boots - the Timberland Plymouth Trail - ideal for fell-walking with it being very durable and waterproof.

New 'Green' Timberland Training Shoes

A beautifully sculpted design for a very comfortable and high-tech training shoe. This shoe has strong eco-credentials, using an environmentally rubber sole and 70% recycled PET in the uppers. The Timberland Mountain Lo is also great for night-time running as it has reflective heel-pieces.

New Timberland Ballerina Pumps and Mary-Jane Shoes

A cross with a moccasin-style boat-shoe, the Timberland Benin ballerina pump is made using the finest leather from a certified environmentally-aware tannery and green rubber soles. The Timberland Jaida is a Mary-Jane style mixing traditional materials with a modern twist.

New in for Christmas 2009

We think Timberland may have an eye on what Dr. Martens are doing with these new white versions of 6" premium Timberland boots. In youth's sizes (3 to 8), we really like the quality in the stitching detail and the blue & white laces, and think they're going to be a big seller!

White is the 'new black'! at Timberland, it seems! As well as the white premium boot, we've just had a new 'hi-trainer' style Euro-sprint Timberland sneaker in white with blue trim. Similar to Nike Dunk in approach, but a lot less common on the street!

New Boy/Girl boots

Unisex or boy/girl boots (especially women's boots that look a bit like men's boots) seem to be the fastest growing fashin in shoes this winter. Apart from Uggs, which aren't to eveyone's tastes, and Dr. Martens, we've several styles of Timberland boy/girl boot. These range from the famous Timberland 6" Premium for Women, through the Timberland Nellie hiking boot, to the new Timberland Charles Lace boot.

Hush Puppies

You may have noticed the expansion in sister sites to this one! We now sell Hush Puppies, some of which share similarities with Timberland shoes, but at a slightly lower price. On our Hush Puppies shoes site, you'll find knee-length woman's boots from under £50 and men's desert suede boots for £60.

New Earthkeepers site - October 2009

There's an all-new Timberland Earthkeepers web-site (Timberland Earthkeepers external link) with some interesting details and facts about the Earthkeepers range of boots. There are videos for how the boots are manufactured, an online game and info on the new Timberland 'Green Rubber' soles – a compound made from recycled car tyres. The Earthkeepers 2.0 boot is designed to be disassembled and recycled, for people who want to tread more lightly on the planet. When you’re done wearing them, simply return them to Timberland UK and they'll recycle up to 80% of every boot.

Royal Mail Deliveries - October 2009

All deliveries can be specified to use free 1-2 day priority service using HDNL (the UK's largest home delivery service), although the usual Royal Mail ‘Tracked’ services are assured by senior management at Royal Mail to remain unaffected by the strike.

Youth's classic Timberland 6" boot - in stock

Had to modify my last blog entry as the 'kids' boot turned out to be more of a youth's, starting at size 3 to 6 and a half. Sorry about that George - thanks to David and Clare for bringing that to my attention! For kids boots, we have a good range of Dr Martens kids boots over at our Dr Martens site.

Crafted in premium, full-grain leather and constructed to be sturdy and waterproof, Timberlands Youth's 6 Inch Premium Boots are rugged and dependable, just like the grown up version. We also have some proper kids sizes of the pink Timberland Splitrock which run from a kids size 12 to a size 2, and the Timberland Euro Sprint which starts at a 2.

New stock of Timberland clothing and some sale shoes - June 2009

Just added a lot of new Timberland clothing items ready for June 2009 - also a few end of lines on various Timberland men's shoes and boots - click the 'Clothing sale' link for full details.

Looking for Laces?

The Timberland UK store has ridiculous postage rates for laces; we reccomend the 'Big Laces' site for a great choice and very reasonable prices & p&p!

Timberland Classic Boat Shoes are Back!

Seems ages since we last had these in and they're proving to be just as popular as they ever were. I know you've missed them too as you've been emailing me to ask why we had none! Available in navy and a couple of brown shades, the Timberland boat is made with premium full grain leathers and hand sewn vamp for comfort, good looks and durability.

New range of Timberland watches

After wearing my trusty Seiko watch since I was 16, it's now past repairing and I've bought myself a rugged-looking Timberland watch. I've been so pleased with the purchase, that I've added a Timberland watch to the site, all prices just short of £50, so undercutting most high-street stores. While stocks last only.

New Spring 2009 Collection

At last - it's taken until nearly March, but we finally have new Timberland stock in today! New hiking boots, new Earthkeeper stock and some new kids/youths classic Timberland 6" boots.

Spring 2009 Season knee-length boots

Just in are stocks of three new knee-high women's boots - the Timberland Atrus (in tan) and Timberland Otaru (in tan and brown). All are practical, comfortable and elegant and the Otaru features some recycled content for a little extra 'eco-friendliness'!

New Timberland boots

A few new products have made it to us early in 2009. There's a tough-looking addition to the Timberland Earthkeepers range - the 'Renovation'. In the same range, the Earthkeepers Chukka from Timberland has all the practical comfort you expect - the Smart Comfort system reduces the impact of each step - but one or more major components contains at least 50% recycled PET, the plastic used to make soda bottles

New Timberland Hiking Boot

The Timberland Splitrock has long been one of our top-sellers throughout 2007 & 2008. For 2009, Timberland have introduced the "Euro Sprint" in black/silver, chocolate and black. This tough and waterproof Timberland boot is designed to offer maximum comfort with extra style. Made with premium leathers, the comfort comes from the padded collar and tongue and the EVA midsole, while the toughness includes a protective toe bumper. The eye-catching style includes a metallic badge and eyelets, making this boot a more fashionable alternative to Timberland's classic range while retaining all the practicality. My prefererence is for the brand new grey Timberland Skyhigh Rock.

White is the 'New Black'?

After the introduction of Dr. Martens all-white boots, Timberland have joined the fun in playing "where did I leave my boots outside now that it's been snowing", with the new Timberland 6" Prem Roll Top; - White inners, white leather, white laces and white rubber soles.

Timberland Bags

We've had to reduce the Timberland bags pages on this site as our original supplier retired, but we now have a new range, albeit limited.

Better than Uggs?

If you like the idea of sheepskin Uggs, but are worried about the effects of oue wet winters (and summers!), then this Timberland leather shoe with roll-down sheepskin lining may be just the thing for you! Crafted in premium, full-grain leather with a luxurious shearling quarter-panel that can be worn up or folded down to show of the luxery! Constructed to be sturdy and waterproof.

New Boots

There are quite a few new style ladies boots from Timberland for the Winter. We like the dark buckle effect on the wheat leather style, which is available as a 14" knee-high boot or as an ankle boot.

New Sustainable directory

The Guardian web site now has an interactive section on sustainable fabrics in footwear. While the Timberland Earthkeepers aren't yet listed, we're sure that's just an oversight ;-)

Where are Timberland Boots made?

The answer is "All over the world" - Timberland use subcontractors in the USA, across Asia, and even in the UK. This 128kB pdf document gives a snapshot of the Timberland subcontractor list as of Summer '08.

Hope you're enjoying some holidays!

Make sure you take time off work and enjoy a holiday break - however short! I've just come back from the South of France, and even though it was only a quick 48-hour Summer Holidays this year, it was great fun! So, now I'm back, refreshed, there's a few prices to alter... A nice summery wedge sandal for women, the Timberland Kadri is further reduced from £54.95 down to just £39.95 and we've a new range of Timberland Duneblaster sports sandals for young people - boys and girls. All at very reasonable prices.

What would you like to see?

The design of this site is quite old, and we're looking at some changes. What would you like to see in the way it's arranged? Perhaps separate categories for men, women and kids? Tell us on by emailing John.

Summer Sizzlers

A few notable price reductions have just come in. Our top-selling men's shoe - the Timberland Black SplitRock 73 is a tenner less at just £69.95, the Timberland Tan Earthkeeprrs Chukka boot is down £5 at £74.95 and the Timberland Black Premium 6"work boot is now just shy of £100.

In the woman's selection, the popular Timberland Kadri wedge sandal is a sizzling £10 less at just £54.95 and the Timberland Wheat Smooth Rock ankle boot down a whopping £34.95 to just £55!

Timberland Earthkeeper Channel

Timberland are keen to spread the word about their long-standing green credentials. Now, some may think that a company using animal skins for clothing can't be all that ecological, but that's a minority point of view and not one which I share. While many companies such as some big UK supermarkets have jumped on the 'green bandwagon' purely for marketing purposes, Timberland have always been committed to having a social responsibility and helping to improve the environment. So, now, they've opened up a new 'Earthkeepers" web-site to tell you more about how they feel about the subject. This includes a blog, information about their eco-projects and details of the Earthkeepers boots - of course, come back here to buy them at a discount! There's also a YouTube channel here and this is the YouTube video that explains Timberland's Earthkeeper principles. Our medium brown Earthkeeper and a much darker brown Earthkeeper are available in stock.

Shh! Whisper it to everyone - 'iSell' Hush Puppies store coming soon this Summer... Watch this space!

As usual, we'll be stocking a large range of Hush Puppies at discount prices, with the option of free UK delivery and regular money-off vouchers.

If you want a personal email telling you when it's up & running, email me here

June 2008 - New 'star' boot!

Woah, where did that come from? New leader in our popularity chart is the smooth black version of the classic 6" Timberland boot. We've also just added some smart mens Oxford brogues and Chelsea boots. As well as the classic boots, Timberland also produces a good range of samdals for men and women, both in sporty, outdoor styles, and for casual wear.

Mid-May 2008 - Splitrock 'most popular' boot

Our current 'most popular' shoe is still the Timberland Splitrock over adult's and youth's sizes, and has been pretty much since they were introduced to the site. A lot of people must like the paired-down lookto the shoe, which has a more modern feel than the classic boots, and yet is still rugged, sturdy and comfortable for long hikes. There's quite a range of colours including black, blue, wheat, brown and even pink! Here's the most recent wheat Timberland Splitrock 73 boot

May 2008 - a few more Timberland shoes and boots

As mentioned last month, the Earthkeeper 'green' range of boots is extended here with the Timberland Rippler Chukka Earthkeeper Tan, with leather and waxed canvas uppers. There are many that couldn't consider a leather shoe as 'eco' or ethical at all, so this footwear uses predominantly man-made materials for the sole, with 30% recycled rubber and natural cork heel insert. Then organic cotton and canvas for the majority of the uppers. The amount of leather is limited to just toe/heel patches, inner sole and laces (although cotton laces are also supplied). This still gives a rugged water repellent boot due to the tough sole and waxed uppers.

May 2008 Sale of Timberland branded clothing

New Ranges added to Timberland footwear in April 2008

We've just added 18 new ranges of shoes and boots from Timberland for the Summer season. A few of these are variants of classic designs such as a wheat-colour version of the Timberland Splitrock 73 boot and the Timberland 6" Premium boot in a rose-pink for youths. There's a brand new Timberland Hiking boot for youths with a unique jigsaw-puzzle pattern, and a couple of new Timberland ballerina pumps in soft Nubuck leather. Hope you like them all!

New Spring Timberland Discounted Sale Stock - Ended

For Spring, we've limited quantities of end of season Timberland stock at drastically reduced prices, although so low is the price, our free delivery offer and vouchers are not applicable to these products (as noted on each relevant page).

As an example, we've some sizes of the kid's Timberland Splitrock 73 leather shoe in black at £24.99 plus £3.99 p&p rather than our normal £49.95 price!

We also have limited stocks of Timberland men's leather work boots at just £79.99 plus £3.99 p&p.

The Timberland Irina woman's leather boot is very popular and we have some sizes at just £59.99 plus £3.99 delivery against our main stock price of £94.95 (less any discount vouchers off that full price, and with free delivery of course).

The usual criteria applies; "buy now to avoid disappointment" - when it's gone, it's gone! Sale Ended April 30th

Star performers!

As you can see from the samples at the foot of this page, the Timberland Splitrock 73 short boot range is our top seller when you take into account the different colours. It's popular with all ages; younger buyers like how it's a cross between a hiking boot and a training shoe, and parents like it because it's rugged and easy to keep clean! You'll pay £90 for a pair on the official Timberland® UK site but our prices are from £19.99 for infant's sizes

Eco-friendly leather boots - yes, really; 'green' boots

It goes without saying that the original Timberland 6" boots are as popular as ever - we've a couple of different colours for men, women and kids including a special 'anniversary' edition in orange. If you don't like the suede effect of these boots, you might be interested in the new Timberland Earthkeeper boots which have a burnished leather look. The 'Earthkeeper' name is a bit of a stretch as they're never going to reduce global warming, but at least Timberland are trying - how many other leading shoe manufacturers are making the effort to use recycled materials? They also use organic cotton in the linings to help you reduce your 'footprint' on the planet - yeah, 'footprint' - American humor ;-)

To further protect the planet from toxic substances, the liners are treated to absorb your smelly foot odours! There's the medium brown Earthkeeper and a much darker brown Earthkeeper, both at £124.95 (or less if we're running one of our discount voucher schemes!) There should be some paler leather/canvas boots around later this Summer - we'll announce when we have some on this page.

Timberland actually have a long tradition of trying to be as eco-friendly as possible. For more information, see their mini-site at www.timberlandserve.com where you can also download their report on their 'Corporate Social Responsibility'. Recently, Timberland planted several thousand trees in a projects near Milton Keynes to create the "Marston Vale Timberland Trail". Details and maps of the Timberland Trail are here.

An articel in the New York Times from 2007 includes interviews with Timberland's US directors about their long-standing views on sustainability. You can read the article here.
